16 October 2024, Hong Kong –– Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF HK) welcomes all policies concerning the development of children and youth in "The Chief Executive's 2024 Policy Address", delivered by the Chief Executive, Mr John Lee, today, in particular:

• Setting up Community Parents and Children Centres to promote play-based parent-child interaction and pass on positive parenting skills to parents;
• Facilitating diversified pathways for children and youth to unleash their potential from multiple dimensions, expanding resources in programmes such as digital education, STEAM education, youth leadership, and overseas exchanges;
• Establishing new physical and online platforms to communicate and interact with young people, making youth voices to be heard;
• Launching the Mental Health Literacy resource packages for senior secondary and lower primary levels, and a real‑time youth‑emotional‑support platform;
• Increasing language, education and community support for ethnic minority children, youths and their families, to foster better integration of the disadvantaged groups.

Children are our tomorrow. UNICEF HK supports the HKSAR Government’s continuous facilitation of children’s development in their first ‘7,000 Days of Life’, from infancy to adolescence, building a more caring, inclusive and child-friendly Hong Kong that benefits every youth and their caregivers.
