UNICEF Charity Run 2025/26 ‘HERO RUN - WondeRun’ All Public Donations to Sustain Post-traumatic Support for Tai Po Students

Hong Kong, 14 December 2025 – UNICEF Charity Run 2025/26 ‘HERO RUN – WondeRun’ kicked off officially today at the park located east of Fan Kam Road. Bringing together mental health, sports, family and education elements, the event shared love, kindness, and positive energy for children across Hong Kong and beyond.
All Public Donations to Sustain Post-traumatic Support for Tai Po Students
UNICEF protects children whenever it is needed. Alongside with various stakeholders and supporters to provide immediate supplies for children affected by the recent devastating fire, the Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF HK) will continue to work closely with the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Hong Kong and allocate all public donations from WondeRun to sustain critical psychosocial support for the Tai Po school community.
The UNICEF Charity Run 2025/26 will conclude with its signature ‘HERO RUN – PoweRun’ on 4 January 2026 at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Inspiration Lake. The event features a Half Marathon, 10km Run, 5km Run, and 3km Youth Race, offering seasoned runners and fitness enthusiasts a chance to race for a meaningful cause.
Spread Love and Kindness, Strengthen Mental Resilience
Ms Judy Chen, Chairman of UNICEF HK expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all who stood with UNICEF HK: “Through a rich variety of activities with music, arts and sports, ‘HERO RUN - WondeRun’ helps connect minds and bodies, relieve stress, and strengthen mental resilience. A healthy mind is the essential foundation for learning, and quality education is the most powerful force to shape a brighter future. We demonstrated the power of unity today, spreading love and kindness while drawing vital attention to the importance of well-being and education for every child.”
Special guest Mr Aristo Sham, UNICEF TEAM member and Hong Kong’s first-ever gold medallist at the 17th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition shared his insights on the healing power of music, a valuable tool in fostering overall development and well-being for children. ‘Star Heroes’ from various fields, including elite long-distance runner Mr Chan Ka Ho, Hong Kong women’s marathon record-holder Ms Yiu Kit Ching, actress and ‘Super Mom’ Ms Winki Lai, and actor and ‘Super Dad’ Mr Stefan Wong, participated alongside their children to champion family values and collective actions for children’s well-being.
Star Heroes Champion the Cause
Returning Star Heroes Mr Chan Ka Ho and Ms Yiu Kit Ching once again participated with their daughters. Mr Chan shared: “WondeRun has become an annual tradition for our family. As a long-distance runner, I know how important both mental and physical strength are. I’m glad this year’s event emphasizes mental health because it plays an essential role in children’s growth and development.”

Star Heroes Mr Chan Ka Ho and Ms Yiu Kit Ching team up with their daughter for the 3km Obstacle Run. The couple shares that they hope to show children how sports can be a powerful force for positivity and helping others, reaching beyond physical fitness.
At the ‘Explorer Tent’, participants step into the shoes of children who are displaced and cannot go to school because of natural disasters and conflict, gaining a deeper understanding of UNICEF's vital work.
Star Heroes Chan Ka Ho, Yiu Kit Ching, Winki Lai, and Stefan Wong appreciate how the new ‘Dreamy Bazaar’ cultivates empathy and children-for-children spirit by empowering them to design and manage their own charity booths under parents’ guidance. All proceeds to provide the critical psychosocial support for the Tai Po school community.
