This is the 17th anniversary of the UNICEF Club project across schools. This year, a total of 38 local and international schools participated and organized nearly 100 campus activities. Through the events, more than 16,000 students learnt more about child rights, the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and the work of UNICEF around the world. Students practiced the knowledge through campus initiatives and promoted the ideas among their peers, teachers and communities.
This year, a number of the UNICEF Clubs focused on “inclusive child participation within campus” and “campus initiatives on environmental sustainability and living condition”. Students from Kwun Tong Maryknoll College, PHC Wing Kwong College and Stewards Pooi Kei College engaged in a dialogue with Ms. May Chiu on the theme "inclusion" while students from Kiangsu Chekiang College International Section, The ISF Academy and Canadian International School of Hong Kong shared their initiatives on "environmental conservation", such as second-hand clothing sales, planting workshops, book donation activities and natural disaster simulations. In their activities, students not only advocated the significance of child rights and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), but also raised funds for children in need.
