UNICEF HK welcomes the approval of the Mandatory Reporting of Child Abuse Bill
2024-07-11
Hong Kong, 11 July 2024 – UNICEF HK welcomes HKSAR Legislative Council’s approval of the Mandatory Reporting of Child Abuse Bill. In line with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC, 1989), the policy acknowledges children’s unique vulnerability to provide protection in any context, ensuring the fulfilment of children’s rights.
Whilst Government is the stakeholder to enact child-friendly laws and policies, we all have an important role to play in supporting children for the best possible outcomes.
