For the fourth consecutive year, the annual charity event underscored the fruitful partnership between HSBC and UNICEF in enhancing education across the region. Since the beginning of the partnership between HSBC and UNICEF in 2008, the Bank has donated a total of over HK$8 million to UNICEF.

At this year’s kick-off event, HSBC Asia-Pacific Chief Executive Peter Wong, UNICEF Regional Ambassador for the East Asia and Pacific Region Aaron Kwok, Chairman of Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF Judy Chen, and one of the world’s top women golfers Michelle Wie, joined hands to help children representing the countries benefitting from UNICEF’s regional education programme to assemble and complete a giant puzzle with the skyline made up of Asian and worldwide landmarks.

The Hong Kong Charity Golf Day 2011 has raised a donation of HK$1.5million and will contribute to the extension of UNICEF’s Child-Friendly Schools programme in over 20 countries in East Asia and the Pacific region.
